Exports

Oman was the United States' 76th largest goods export market in 2010.

U.S. goods exports to Oman in 2010 were $1.1 billion, down 2.2% ($25 million) from 2009. U.S. exports to Oman are down 20% from 2008 (Pre-FTA)

The top export categories (2-digit HS) in 2010 were: Vehicles ($254 million), Machinery ($249 million), Electrical Machinery ($177 million), Organic Chemicals ($77 million), and Special Other (low value shipments) ($53 million).

U.S. exports of agricultural products to Oman totaled $44 million in 2010. Leading categories include: wheat ($18 million), and poultry meat ($6 million).

Imports

Oman was the United States' 80th largest supplier of goods imports in 2010.

U.S. goods imports from Oman totaled $773 million in 2010, a 14.8% decrease ($135 million) from 2009 U.S. imports from Oman are down 9% from 2008 (Pre-FTA).

The five largest imports categories in 2010 were: Mineral Fuel (crude oil) ($379 million), Fertilizers ($154 million), Plastic ($119 million), Precious Stones (jewelry) ($61 million), and Iron and Steel Products ($24 million).

U.S. imports of agricultural products from Oman totaled $457 thousand in 2010.

Trade Balance

The U.S. goods trade surplus with Oman was $329 million in 2010, a 50.2% increase ($110 million) from 2009.

Investment

U.S. foreign direct investment (FDI) in Oman (stock) was not available in 2009.
